New abortion law regarding Planned Parenthood was halted by Florida District Judge Robert Hinkle on the first of July. The law proposed new regulation on Planned Parenthood making it so that public funds cannot be used in their clinics regardless of its intended use. Judge Hinkle saying that the Legislature is attempting to impose unconstitutional restrictions on public funding and that its goal is to discourage the clinics from performing abortions. This comes after a Supreme Court ruling only days earlier regarding a Texas law which attempted to burden Planned Parenthood in such a way that it would close many locations | ![]() |
. Hinkle uses this as part of his reasoning for halting the similar Florida Legislation. There has yet to be a final say on the proposed legislation as it moves its way through the court system.
